Services

Musculoskeletal, Cardiopulmonary, Neurological and Pediatric Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy helps to restore movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability. It can also help to reduce your risk of injury or illness in the future.

Holistic Treatment

Holistic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on recovery in a comprehensive way. Holistic therapy abides by these same principles. A holistic approach to therapy delves into the complex nature of conditions such as addiction, depression, and anxiety, using a variety of approaches that focus on both the mind and body

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is the manipulation of soft tissues of the body including muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints. Massage therapy is a clinically-oriented healthcare option that helps alleviate the discomfort associated with every day occupational stresses, muscular over-use and many chronic pain conditions.

Sports Therapy

Sports Therapy focuses on preventing injury and on rehabilitation of the patient back to the best possible levels of function. Sports Therapy treatments are not just beneficial to the sports person, but to anyone with aches, pains or injuries. Sports Therapy focuses highly on the individual’s lifestyle, including profession, fitness levels, hobbies, posture and general lifestyle. This is done by a comprehensive, initial assessment which will include a full posture assessment, spoken and physical assessment to fully understand where the root of the pain is coming from.

Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy is a complementary therapy that uses water for health purposes. There are many uses for different types of hydrotherapy, including treating joint pain with water exercises and easing muscle stress with cold or hot showers or baths.

Geriatric

Aging is an inevitable process. Physiological changes are also inevitable as a result of aging. The care needs brought by those physiological changes are called “Geriatric Rehabilitation”.
A special program is developed during the rehabilitation program based on the patient’s status. However, the following points are important for the programs for elderly patients.
Pain relief, if exists. Increase of joint movements (arm opening, leg stretching). In general, increasing the motor power. Developing the skills of elderly patients. Increasing the strength of patients.

Radial Shock-wave Therapy

Radial Shockwave Therapy is a non-invasive solution utilized by Sports Medicine, Orthopedic and Physiotherapy professionals for chronic pain in your shoulder, back, heel, knee and elbow just to name a few. During Shockwave therapy, a high-intensity sound wave interacts with the tissue of the body. This leads to a cascade of beneficial effects such as; but not limited to, the reversal of chronic inflammation. As the injured area is returned to normal, functionality is restored and pain is relieved.

Manual Therapy
Manual therapy is a form of hands-on therapy treatment designed to help physiotherapists mobilize stiff joints and soft tissue.
This advanced method of therapy helps to minimize swelling, reduce restraint, mobilize joints, and improve your freedom of movement.
Paraffin Wax Bath (Feet or Hands)

Paraffin wax is a white or colorless soft, solid wax. It’s made from saturated hydrocarbons.
It’s often used in skin-softening salon and spa treatments on the hands, cuticles, and feet because it’s colorless, tasteless, and odorless. It can also be used to provide pain relief to sore joints and muscles.

IASTM

Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM)  is a skilled myofascial intervention used for soft-tissue treatment. It is based on the principles of James Cyriax cross-friction massage.
It is applied using instruments that are usually made of stainless steel with bevelLed edges and contours that can conform to different body anatomical locations and allows for deeper penetration. It is used for the detection and treatment of soft tissue disorders.[3]
A proposed description for IASTM is “a skilled intervention that includes the use of specialized tools to manipulate the skin, myofascia, muscles, and tendons by various direct compressive stroke techniques”.

Womens/Mens Health

Women’s Health Physiotherapy was is the care of women in relation to childbirth, both antenatally and postnatally, including the teaching of antenatal classes, in the treatment of incontinence, and in the care of women undergoing gynaecological surgery.

Men’s Health is a specific area of physiotherapy focusing on the treatment and management of pelvic floor dysfunction. Men’s health issues can appear at any age – from the young sporting type to the older man. Pelvic floor dysfunction can be connected to a number of conditions.

Strengthening & Conditioning

Strength and Conditioning (S&C) is the selection and development of dynamic /static exercises used to improve physical performance. Whilst it originally benefited athletes it is now widely used in both the sporting world and more generally.

Ante-Natal Classes

Antenatal physiotherapy classes are a combination of specially formulated pregnancy exercises using Physiotherapy techniques as well as Prenatal Pilates informed exercises.

Reflexology

Reflexology, sometimes called reflex therapy or zone therapy, divides the body into ten vertical zones, similar to the meridians in Chinese medicine, and the organs, valves, muscles, and so on that reside within each zone are connected through the central nervous system to pressure points on the feet, hands, or ears. There is a neurological relationship between the skin and the internal organs, and putting pressure on certain specific reflex points on the feet and sometimes the hands and ears sends a calming message throughout the central nervous system.

Reflexology stimulates the body into healing itself by improving circulation, reducing stress, pain and restoring natural balance. More research is needed to see if reflexology can have a direct effect on specific conditions, but based on what we know so far.

It may ease anxiety among people who’ve had heart surgery, pain during labor, Arthritis pain, some symptoms of multiple sclerosis, like fatigue and uncomfortable skin sensations, emotional and physical pain caused by cancer, improve sinus issues, relieve back pain and ease constipation

Fluidotherapy

Fluidotherapy is a high-intensity heat modality consisting of a dry whirlpool of finely divided solid particles suspended in a heated air stream, the mixture having the properties of a liquid. In addition to the superficial heat, it provides tactile stimulation while also allowing for active range of motion.

Pilates & Yoga

Pilates (or the Pilates method) is a series of about 500 exercises inspired by calisthenics, yoga and ballet. Pilates lengthens and stretches all the major muscle groups in the body in a balanced fashion. It improves flexibility, strength, balance and body awareness. Yoga brings the body and mind together and is built on three main elements – exercise, breathing and meditation. Both yoga and Pilates improve muscular and postural strength.

Laser Therapy

L.A.S.E.R means Light Amplification By Stimulated Emission of Radiation.

Laser therapy involves low-intensity laser light to relief pain caused due to the damage of soft tissue.

Lymphatic Drainage
Lymphatic drainage is a special massage technique that stimulates the lymphatic system to clear blockages, allowing the lymph to flow freely, thereby encouraging the system to perform at an optimum level.
Unlike the circulatory system which uses the heart to pump the blood around the body, the lymphatic system has to rely on movement from the surrounding muscles to force the fluid through the lymph vessels.  The pressure created by massage manipulates the muscles in the same manner and helps to influence the movement of lymph fluid.
Mirror Therapy

Mirror Therapy, or mirror box therapy, is a physiotherapy/physical therapy and occupational therapy technique used to help increase movement and decrease pain in limbs. It is suitable to treat conditions such as complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), phantom limb pain, stroke and other chronic pain conditions. In many of these conditions the affected limb may not move well and it might be very painful when you try to move it. With adequate practice using mirror therapy, both patients and therapists have reported positive outcomes.

Lumbar Traction

Traction is a very broad term; it involves the process of application of a distraction to the body part by using weight or a mechanical pull. When the traction is applied over the lumbar area using a traction machine then it is termed as lumbar traction.  This application of distraction force is applied over the lower back vertebrae in an attempt to separate two vertebral bodies from each other.

Realignment and Corrective Therapy

Corrective Exercises is a blend of personal fitness training with physical therapy, which teaches you how to move with the correct muscles. This enables fluid joint movement and the potential avoidance of nearly any joint or muscle pain.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a treatment performed by skilled, trained physical therapists, certified in the procedure. A thin monofilament needle penetrates the skin and treats underlying muscular trigger points for the management of neuromusculoskeletal pain and movement impairments.

Acupuncture

A system of integrative medicine that involves pricking the skin or tissues with needles, used to alleviate pain and to treat various physical, mental, and emotional conditions.

Cupping

Cupping is a practice used in traditional medicine in several parts of the world, including China and the Middle East. It involves creating suction on the skin using a glass, ceramic, bamboo, or plastic cups. Negative pressure is created in the cup either by applying a flame to the cup to remove oxygen before placing it on the skin or by attaching a suction device to the cup after it is placed on the skin. In “wet cupping,” the skin is pierced, and blood flows into the cup. “Dry cupping” doesn’t involve piercing the skin.

Post Amputee Rehabilitation
The loss of a lower limb has severe implications for a person’s mobility, and ability to perform activities of daily living. This negatively impacts their participation and integration into society. The ultimate goal of rehabilitation after limb loss is to ambulate successfully with the use of a prosthesis and to return to a high level of social reintegration. Prosthetic rehabilitation is a complex task that ideally requires input from a transdisciplinary rehabilitation team including the physiotherapist.
Respiratory or Chest Physio
Chest physiotherapy is a group of physical techniques that improve lung function and help you breathe better. Chest PT, or CPT expands the lungs, strengthens breathing muscles, and loosens and improves drainage of thick lung secretions. Chest PT helps treat such diseases as cystic fibrosis and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). It also keeps the lungs clear to prevent pneumonia after surgery and during periods of immobility.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound is the delivery of sound waves into the tissues which can produce a variety of effects including thermal, mechanical, chemical and biological. The dosage delivered will depend on the tissue being treated, the acuity of the injury, its depth, and the affect. Ultrasound is used to provide deep heating to soft tissues in the body including muscles, tendons, joints, and ligaments. Deep heating of these soft tissues increases circulation, assist the healing process and decrease pain.
